Gifted Education 2.0

Real life collaboration regarding all issues in Gifted Education

The students at my school decided that we'd share our favorite tools with as many people as we can, so here's where you click in order to see that list.

We will be updating it from time to time, and it's by no means a list of ALL the tools we use. However, these are each used everyday by at least one more more of us at Turning Point Learning Center.

Main thing to remember: We learn THROUGH the tools. We do NOT learn tools just to know them, but rather use it to enhance the learning of the required and also the fun curriculum!

If you learn something or if you have questions, please leave a comment! The kids would LOVE to (and need to) know they've been able to help someone else!

great list! One thing that would make it even better would be to add a hyperlink to each title to take readers right to the application!

Yes of course, but the original intent of the list was to hand out to non-tech gifted teachers at a conference, so to hyperlink would've defeated the purpose. We're getting ready to go present again, so maybe we should update the list (that's a year old) and put in those hyperlinks since we're not creating from scratch!

Ok - I am not the most tech savey on using it in the classroom so I need some advice. I am trying to connect with a classroom in England (my classroom in US and their classroom have already found each other) but don't know the best way to do it. They are doing a weather unit and want to send emails back and forth between students. However, my district will not allow students to have email accounts in elementary school. What other things can I use and how do I set it up? This is a huge opportunity that I do not want to mess up!

What about creating a wiki or ning which both groups can be members of, add information, & access anywhere, anytime. Then, noone needs an email account to send information.
