Hi LLD,

Could you please share how it has been working out for your son, attending middle school/high school/college at the same time? DS8 is well at middle school level in math, but it is not exactly next door.

Regretably I haven't got any tips on the logistics, LLD. Ds has started visiting the 6th Graders but only once a week at the moment. The idea appears to be phasing him into the senior class, subject to a good review every few months. If he shows he can manage, then twice a week next school term, and so forth.

I am not too fussed about this because the grade teacher is actually giving ds Grade 8 worksheets to do in class and at home. The only downside is, if ds only attends Grade 6 Math once a week, he is supposed to catch up on what the other students have done for the rest of the week...

Sounds like my son's school will need to have all the logistics sorted out before yours. If there is anything which may be of interest to you, I'll keep you informed if you like.

Thanks for replying.

That is certainly exciting! I'm curious to know, please, whether taking the high school courses involve commuting to and from the middle school? If so, how were the problems with timetabling and commuting resolved? My son is in elementary and about to start subject acceleration next month, learning Math with the 6th Graders. I'm not sure about the logistics yet.

Hello,

Would you like to share the experience of your gifted child attending middle/high/college at the same time? Is it working out well for your family?
