Konigsburg's A View from Saturday is fantastic because it's about a set of pseudo-outcasts (who all seem very gifted) whose teacher sees something wonderful in them and nutures their talent.

We use the CogAT in our district along with some qualitative pieces to identify students. Scoring in the 99th percentile would likely indicate a need for GT services in our district. The top score of 150 is hard to get depending on a child's age....

Great Books for Gifted Kids Wiki

I developed a 6 hour GT professional development called "Great Books for Gifted Kids." The latest version (I never can leave it alone) pairs great books with the social emotional needs of gifted kids and also incorporates some web 2.0 tools.
