A friend gave me a new idea this summer: Art Trading Cards. You use a plain deck of cards, but each student decorates one card. They can be posted, traded, shared, or think of another use? You could adapt this to direct them to say something about...
IN Kansas, we're just beginning to see RtI (we call it MTSS) implemented. Gifted is under the special education umbrella, so we've been doing some similar processes for identication - such as interventions to determine needs. The state supports th...
There is also a PEGS program in the Kanas City Area - it used to be housed at Red Bridge Elementary in the Center School District. It is supported by 3-5 area suburban school districts who send their HG students. I assume it's still in operation.

I've been doing a pilot program this year using wikis and blogs to create online enrichment clusters for gifted students. It's been pretty succesful and I've just created a Ning group for educators working with GT kids to collaborate on online enrichment clusters. I hope you'll join us and share your ideas and knowledge.

Hello Mrs. Sheets,
I really miss the days when Cody was working with you.
Things have not gone so well for us since Middle School. and Cody has not even attended High School. I was not prepared for the challenge of parenting a gifted, ADD, adolescent.
I put all my energy into that child, and need to find the strength to advocate for 2 more, one in kindergarten.
You were kind enough to answer a general question I had about by DS and acceleration a little while ago. I have read about the Iowa Acceleration Scale and I am wondering if the districts you were in used it? Do you support it?
Thanks in advance.
