Ds is more into Math and Chemistry, but he has started doing some history projects in school and is quite comfortable with that. I'll give it some more thoughts and come back to you on suggestions later.
Thanks a lot,
Donna
Congratulations on creating the enrichment network! I saw a few courses being offered, but my son is a 3rd Grader. Any plans of offering something to enrich the learning of the slightly younger ones please?
Regards,
Donna
Funny though, online NAGC has my school listed incorrectly. I've not worked at EMS for 2 years, and instead am working at Turning Point Learning Center.
But that's all good. I'm going to get to meet Dan Pink in person there in Tampa, instead of just talking with him in video conferences!
Let's be sure we're in communication coming up to the Conference and we'll have a real-life meet and greet. OR MAYBE we'll have a GE2.0 meet and greet one of the days! We totally should! What's a catchy name for that...?
Hi Michelle,
I hate to say it, but both George and Stuart have been invisible and were "involved" locally on paper only. I understand that they are busy, but you'd expect they could have come to District GT Advisory Board meetings every once in a while. As it was, they did not even once attend!
I perused your website and find your logo for the affiliate very appealing!
I hope your district is willing to actively involve your affiliate. In Greeley I closely worked with the GT district coordinator for eight years until she retired. We co-hosted meetings and she sent out invitations to parents of GT kids, something I could never have accomplished by myself.
Because of the change in leadership two years ago (which coincided with her retirement) and the focus on CSAP due to academic watch status, GT has been put onto the back burner. In fact, the district (with the blessing of our schoolboard) has pretty much put me on the side lines. I have no more access to parents or GT teachers. (There's been enormous turnover since the new superintendent Renae Dreier took control.)
This is the reason why I have resigned from my position. Since no one is willing to carry on, the Greeley CAGT affiliate has ceased to exist. An oddity is that I have not heard any response from CAGT!
Do you know Jill Maxwell? She's starting up a CAGT parent group at a school (name escapes me) in Boulder.
